Yorktown, Virginia - Founded in 1691, Yorktown is one of our nations first settlements. It's great historical significance came in 1781 when the siege and subsequent surrender of Yorktown marked the defeat of British General Cornwallis by George Washington and effective end to the Revolutionary War.
